special

Ski touring and freeriding. Our mountain guides pick us up at the hut every day and we spend the days in the backcountry. For a change, the often deserted pistes also have a lot to offer.

Our chefs take care of breakfast & dinner as well as delicious snacks on and off the slopes. Our camp also includes yoga sessions, movie nights and a wide range of equipment.

The Tauplitzalm is located in Austria near Salzburg. Our camp is on the edge of the ski area with lift access and can only be reached by snowmobile. Close to nature and cozy with its own sauna.

The Tauplitz is one of the most snow-sure areas in the Northern Alps and is an insider tip among freeriders. It offers perfect conditions for beginners in particular to learn how to freeride.

Location

The Tauplitz
Slopes for all levels and great
freeride opportunities
The Tauplitzalm is one of the oldest ski resorts in Styria, Austria. Thanks to its favorable geographical location, it is considered one of the most snow-sure areas in Austria, which was a decisive factor in our choice of location. So far we have not been disappointed and have had fantastic powder days even in spring without large crowds.
Even if the area itself is not necessarily impressive due to its size, it is really varied, offers a wide range of slopes for all levels and is somewhat reminiscent of the famous “pillow powdering” from the American Rockies in terms of freeriding. There are impressive deep-snow descents on freeride slopes, some of which are secured, and we really let off steam with you in the terrain, especially during our freeride weeks. With the local mountain guides, we are guaranteed to be in the right place at the right time.
Around half of the signposted pistes are suitable for beginners and there is a children’s area where children can learn to ski or snowboard in peace and quiet – there is something for everyone on the Tauplitzalm.

This week offers you the chance to take your freeride skills to the next level. In contrast to the beginners’ course with a fixed program, we design the week flexibly and adapt to the current conditions. In this way, we maximize your learning success and open up new possibilities in the terrain.
Safety/material
We provide you with all the safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe) for your freeride week. Your guide will instruct you and show you how to use the equipment safely and adapt the introduction to the use of the equipment to your level. You are of course welcome to bring your own equipment.
Do you need additional equipment for the ascent (snowshoes, touring skis, skins, splitboard)? No problem! Just let us know in good time so that we can reserve the equipment for you at the rental shop. This way you can be sure that you have everything you need. This additional equipment is not included in the price and will be charged separately by the rental company.

Ski huts on the edge of the forest
Classic huts, new concept
Our two ski huts are quaint and comfortably furnished, so you’ll feel right at home on your winter vacation from the very first day. Through the windows of the common rooms you have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and a small forest that stretches right up to the huts – here it is completely quiet after the lift closes and we are undisturbed. After a long day on the slopes, you have plenty of opportunities to switch off and relax in our huts. There are always a few deckchairs in front of our huts to catch the last rays of sunshine before the sun disappears behind the mountain peaks. There are board and card games in our common rooms and the sauna is also available at any time. If you’re still looking for a bit of activity, you can spontaneously go to the open yoga class, which takes place in the yoga room after the lift closes.
We’ll all be together for dinner and round off the day in a cozy atmosphere. To experience a few highlights during your time with us, we will spend an evening together in a hut one evening a week, serve a hot mulled wine under a starry sky or go on a torch-lit hike on the mountain under a clear starry sky.

Rooms
Relaxation in the ski hut
We also offer daily yoga classes for a sporting balance and to stretch and pull apart the muscles after exercise. You can drop by spontaneously and really work out or relax deeply – depending on your mood on the day. If you want to do something really good for your body, you can use our saunas at any time.
Room

Double room
For couples or friends
If you value more privacy on your vacation than a quadruple room offers, you also have the option of booking a room in a double room. Of course, the two of you can also have your own double room. In the double rooms, we differentiate again between the so-called “small double room” and the “large double room”.Our large double room can be furnished with either a large double bed or two separate single beds, making it suitable for couples as well as friends or acquaintances.
Small double room means that we will accommodate you in a room for four people in which two beds are left free. The small double rooms are therefore equipped with bunk beds and are more suitable for friends than for couples.Even if you are traveling alone, it is no problem to book a place in one of our double rooms. In this case, we will book you in with another person who you will meet on site. We make sure that the sexes are kept separate.

Single room
More privacy
If you prefer to have a room to yourselves, you can also book a single room. This means you can decide for yourself at any time whether you want to mingle with the other guests or simply withdraw for a while. Our single rooms have either a large double bed or two single beds – in which case the second bed simply remains free.

Quadruple room
Most frequently booked
Our packages include accommodation in one of our 4-bed rooms. If you come to us with a small group, you can of course book one of these rooms for yourselves, but even if you are traveling alone, you can get a place in a 4-bed room. In this case, you will get to know a few new people with whom you will be sharing a room. We make sure that the rooms are only occupied by people of the same sex.
Catering

Overview
Healthy, regional and varied
A fantastic vacation not only includes sport and relaxation, but also good food in a cozy atmosphere. Our chefs attach great importance to healthy, varied, regional and, above all, delicious cuisine that is adapted to the sporting demands. We do everything we can to ensure that the food we serve is one of the highlights of your vacation. Of course, you will also get to know one or two regional specialties and any intolerances or diets will be catered for by prior arrangement. Meals include 7 breakfasts, homemade packed lunches and 6 three-course dinners and a hut evening.

Breakfast
The perfect start to the day
The first thing you should do when you get up is take the opportunity to sit down on our sun terrace with your first coffee or tea – enjoy the silence, the mountain panorama and the view of the glistening slopes, where freshly fallen powder may be beckoning. You can fortify yourself at our breakfast buffet, where you can put together whatever you feel like at the table. In the morning, fresh rolls and bread await you, as well as a selection of cheese and cold cuts, vegetarian spreads, jams and a small muesli bar. This will definitely provide you with enough energy for the day.

Lunch
Hut get-together in the ski area
So that you don’t have to come back to the hut at lunchtime, you can put together a packed lunch at breakfast to keep your strength up during the day. We will offer you one or two extra things at breakfast so that you have a full meal with you. If you are not on the ski tour, we will arrange a hut in the ski area where we can meet for lunch or you can simply take your lunch break in the middle of nature.
After the snow day, our chefs will be waiting for you with cake, quiche or other delicacies to tide you over until dinner.

Dinner
Three courses of live cooking at the hut
As our huts are located in the middle of the ski area, our chefs take care of your meals directly on site. We are supplied by snowmobile so that we have fresh food available every day. In the evening, there is a 3-course menu consisting of a hot soup or a fresh salad as a starter, a main course that is often typical of the region and a dessert creation from our kitchen. On request, we serve regional wine and local juices to round off the meal – and of course a Swiss stone pine schnapps is also a must. One evening a week we will organize a hut evening outside the hotel with Styrian-style catering on site in the ski area.
Courses &
Material

Our camp is suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. You can learn your first turns here in peace and quiet, cruise down the slopes with like-minded occasional skiers or hone your short turns on the black slopes, and in recent years a kicker has always been built somewhere in the terrain – there’s something for everyone.
We have decided not to offer our own ski and snowboard courses as there are already two schools on the mountain that offer lessons for all levels. We have established good contacts here and are happy to put you in touch with the Vasold ski school, where owner Peter will welcome you with open arms.
If you don’t have your own equipment, you can also borrow everything you need here.

Yoga

Yoga in the snow camp
Yoga & meditation as a sporting balance
To release the adrenaline and muscular tension of the ski day and actively relax, you can decide spontaneously every day whether you would like to join one of our open yoga sessions. We meet daily in our yoga room and the class is designed depending on the mood of the group – it is led by our experienced yoga teacher Nina, who places particular emphasis on creating a balance to the stress on the slopes and supporting the regeneration of the body. You can take part regardless of your ability and it doesn’t matter whether you already have experience in yoga or not, or whether you are taking part to relax, enjoy yourself or for a relaxing balance. All are welcome!
We also offer yoga retreats in certain weeks. In addition to snow sports, you can take part in a very special kind of retreat in the mornings and evenings in a closed group.

Yoga spots & material
Fully equipped and with a view of the snow and mountains
Our yoga room has a view of the ski area and the surrounding mountains and on many evenings you can enjoy a beautiful sunset here during the yoga sessions. So even outside of the yoga sessions, it’s well worth sitting by the window with a book in the afternoon. In the evenings, we sometimes have a movie night here in the cosy setting, play cards or look at the photos from the past week together.
Our yoga equipment is of course also available to you beyond the courses. It consists of mats, rubber or cork blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets. So you can equip yourself according to your abilities and don’t have to bring your own yoga equipment. By arrangement, you can also use the room for individual workouts or your own yoga sessions.
What do
our guests say?

Definitely recommended! Both the surf camp and the snow camp are great. Goodtimes always manages to combine the authentic sports experience with first-class comfort and professionalism. No wish remains unfulfilled. The atmosphere is always extremely pleasant and the first-class food and the great yoga offer round things off. Gladly again.

The snow camp is simply a dream. Cozy, creatively furnished huts, great views, great people, great food, empty slopes, beautiful snowy landscape. Perfect place to switch off, recharge your batteries and have fun. :)
