We are Goodtimes - We are Jan, Matthis and Malte. Originally founded as a surf camp in 2013 by Jan and Malte, we joined forces with Matthis and his company Tima-Travels in 2020. We are all three sports scientists from the German Sport University Cologne and specialize in the planning and implementation of sports trips - in sports that inspire us. We are supported by a large team, some of whom have been with us at the locations and in our office for years. Incidentally, we got to know each other in Portugal...

Hi, I'm Jan and I'm one of the founders of Goodtimes. I am an avid skier and surfer, but my hobbies also include kayaking and climbing. I spent every season of the first 10 years at our surf camp in Portugal and I am the overall camp manager both there and at our snow camp. In our office, I mainly take care of communication with you and am responsible for team planning. My highlights at Goodtimes are the freeride courses at our snow camp, which give beginners an introduction to the best side of snow sports - and the location of our surf camp right by the sea, which is simply unique.

Matthis

Climbers & skiers
I am Matthis and also a founder, but initially with TIMA-Travels. However, Jan and I have been working together for many years and so we decided to set up a joint company from Goodtimes Surfcamp and TIMA-Travels in 2020. Now you will mainly meet me in the climbing and bouldering locations. I am passionate about all alpine sports and in the office I am responsible for planning and scouting new locations and ideas. My highlight is that you can get to know a wide variety of places with us, mountains and sea, winter and summer, and also some little-known spots.

Back office
I'm Nora and I've been with Goodtimes from day one. I'm not one of the guides, but you'll meet me at some of our camps because I take care of the procedures. I also share the e-mail communication with Jan. So if you send us a booking, you'll definitely end up with me. My highlight in our camps are the beautiful places we get to be. As a surfer and snowboarder, you'll mainly meet me in Portugal and Austria.

Bouldering vacation
as a family

We will be happy to prepare everything you need for your children by prior arrangement. If required, we can equip your room with extra beds or a baby crib and for parents with small children there are some rooms with a private bathroom. 

We have found a great combination of houses, tiny houses and glamping tents in a small clearing here, and for 1 week each season our boulder camp becomes an adventure playground for all ages.

There are slacklines, spikeball sets and other games on the camp grounds. If you want to relax a little after a strenuous day in the fresh air, you will find a table football table and lots of board and card games in the camp's main building.

Bouldering vacation
as a family

Our family trip in France takes place in our bouldering camp near Fontainebleau, which is wonderfully secluded in the middle of one of the forest areas for which the region is so famous – the nearest bouldering sector is within walking distance.

We have found a great combination of houses, tiny houses and glamping tents in a small clearing here, and for 1 week each season our bouldering camp becomes an adventure playground for all ages.

There are slacklines, spikeball sets and other games on the camp grounds. If you want to relax a little after a strenuous day in the fresh air, you will find a table football table and lots of board and card games in the camp’s main building. The kitchen and dining area are also located here.

Surf vacation
as a family

Our family trip to Portugal takes place at our surf camp and has now been a tradition for over 10 years. For a few weeks a year, our surf camp is transformed into a children’s paradise by the sea – you can see the waves from the grounds at all times and you are less than 100m from the water.

There are three beach houses on our large grounds, which are for communal use. The houses are surrounded by a shared garden, where there is a campfire site and plenty of sports facilities with a basketball hoop, table tennis table, beach volleyball net and spike ball sets, so that young and old can romp around the grounds all day long. The houses are also equipped with lots of board games, card sets and other beach toys so that nobody gets bored.

A small stone wall surrounding the site makes the camp area self-contained and it’s easy to keep an eye on the children while you watch the waves on the terrace or simply lie in the sun.

Diets and intolerances

Vegetarian, vegan, customized and individual

We know how important it is to feel good on vacation - and that includes individually tailored catering. Our experienced chefs can easily serve you purely vegetarian or vegan food throughout the week and individual intolerances such as coeliac disease, lactose or fructose intolerances are also taken into account. Meals are not simply changed, but cooked separately. It is best to let us know when you make your booking so that we can plan accordingly.

We will be happy to prepare everything you need for your children by prior arrangement. If required, we can equip your room with extra beds or a baby crib and for parents with small children there are some rooms with a private bathroom. There are toys, lots of board games and, as part of our family trips, we also offer surfing courses for children aged 8 and over. For those who are still too young, there are plenty of alternative sports options so that they can play outside all day. Our family trips with children's surfing courses take place in different weeks every year, just send us an email if you are interested.
