Location

Costa Blanca region
GOODTIMES climbing camp
There is an airport in Valencia and Alicante that you can fly to. From there you can either hire a car or use our shuttle between 14:00 and 18:00 (unfortunately we do not offer this service for Alicante). It takes about an hour by car to get to the camp. Our finca “Casa Palomas” is located near the small village of Pedreger and we will be happy to give you the exact location if you arrive by rental car.

Best time to travel
The white coast

The Costa Blanca is characterized by a mild, Mediterranean climate. The best times to visit for a beach vacation are from April to October. However, the winter and spring months are particularly recommended for a climbing vacation. During this time, the temperatures are pleasant and the average probability of rain is low. We therefore chose March and April for our trip. At this time of year, the average temperature is around 19°C and it can get warmer than 20°C. Ideal conditions for climbing as well as for a hammock afterwards, for sightseeing and maybe even for a dip in the sea. What’s more, it’s not the peak season at this time of year, so the number of tourists is not as high as in the summer months. Thanks to this, as well as the location of our accommodation and the choice of climbing areas, we can spend a quiet time close to nature on the Costa Blanca.

Geography
The southeast of Spain
The Costa Blanca is the coastal section of the Spanish province of Valencia and Alicante. It stretches for around 150 km from the cities of Dénia (in the north) via Alicante (in the center) to Pilar de la Horadada (in the south). Beautiful excursion destinations within the province of Alicante include the palm garden in Elche (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the numerous Roman and Arab-influenced old towns in the surrounding cities.
Furthermore, 100 km north of our accommodation is the city of Valencia, which was founded in 138 BC. It is the third largest city in Spain, offers a rich cultural offering and is considered the “birthplace of paella”.
Climbing

Individual guiding and support on the rock
Suitable for every level
During your week with us, we will show you various climbing areas on the Costa Blanca. Equipped with all the necessary equipment, we will head to one area per day with you. There are 8 climbing areas in the immediate vicinity of our finca (max. 30 min drive). There are a total of 40 areas on the Costa Blanca that are suitable for us. When making our selection, we make sure that there are enough routes available for every individual climbing level, because On the Costa Blanca, there is plenty of choice for climbing at all levels of difficulty. From toprope climbing to lead climbing, everything is possible.
We want everyone to get their money’s worth, which is why we base our daily selection of climbing spots on your individual climbing skills and experience. We take you to the climbing area and guide you to the wall and the routes. With our many years of experience on site, we are sure to find the right routes for you in every area. Afterwards, we are of course always available to answer questions and provide assistance, and we are also happy to climb with you or demonstrate something – however, we do not offer a classic climbing course. However, our climbing instructors will be happy to give you tips on request so that you can get new input at any time.

Climbing level
Every level is welcome
Our offer is aimed at all climbers or those who want to become climbers – regardless of their level. To those who would like to try their hand at rock climbing, to those who have already had their first experience of climbing (e.g. in the gym) or to those who are already completely independent on the rock and are just looking for someone to show them new areas and provide them with local knowledge. We will guide you through the Costa Blanca and show you the best places to climb according to your level.
A climbing partner is not a prerequisite! So you can vacation with us as a group, rope team or solo traveler. As we are always on the rock as a group, you can get together on site and also belay each other.

We have everything with us
Borrow or bring your own basics
Ideally, you should already have climbing shoes, as we do not provide them. It also makes sense to bring your own harness, but this is not a requirement – if you don’t have a harness, belay device or helmet, you can borrow these from us. All other equipment is provided by us, so you don’t need to lug ropes to Spain, nor do you need exes and other equipment. Of course, it’s no problem if you prefer to use your own equipment.
Climbing areas
More than 40 climbing areas

The Costa Blanca has a lot to offer and with over 40 climbing areas in the area, we have plenty of choice, so you’re guaranteed not to get bored. Depending on which area we choose, you can expect travel times of between 15 and 45 minutes. The basis for the choice of area is always the level of the group and, of course, the current weather conditions.
Due to the size of the region and the number of areas, there are numerous routes for every climbing level, from beginners to climbing pros. The focus is on routes in difficulty levels 5a – 6c. You are free to choose whether you want to try your hand at toprope or lead climbing, large-grip pleasure routes or micro ledges, balance-challenging slabs or athletic overhangs. And even if you are not yet familiar with all this, you are in good hands with us and will know what we are talking about after a week.
Alcalali
Jalon Valley
Only 15 minutes away
The village of Alcalali and its climbing area are just a 15-minute drive from our finca.Alcalali is located in the Jalon Valley, where agriculture predominates and almonds, wine and olives are grown. These are also sold throughout the region in rustic bodegas, which you will certainly get to know during the week. Due to its natural beauty, the Jalon Valley is also very popular with hikers.
In terms of climbing technique, Alcalali offers mainly inclined and vertical walls. The rock is rough and full of holes and therefore very suitable with very sunny sectors and the best, rough Mediterranean limestone. Partly slabby, it is over 40 meters high in places. In the left-hand section of the wall there are routes between 15 and 30 meters high, ranging from easy (3+) to challenging (7b+). The difficult routes in the right-hand section of the wall are closed from January to June for bird protection reasons.
Gandía
Slightly north
Slightly increased level of difficulty
If we head north, there is a climbing area between our accommodation and Valencia near the town of Gandía, famous for the Spanish noble family Borgia and their magnificent buildings. The climbing area in Gandía has both easy and difficult routes, most of which are of medium difficulty. Slightly elevated above the valley, there is a fantastic view over fields of orange trees and, in combination with the south-facing rock faces, you can enjoy the sun all day long, even on “cooler” days. The sintered rock in places and its pitted structure make for tricky routes that are fun at every level of difficulty.
Climbing finca

Our climbing finca
Relaxing, pool & sunbathing
At the easternmost tip of the Costa Blanca near Pedreguer lies our climbing finca “Las Palomas” – which can be loosely translated as “the pigeon house” due to its many small turrets. It stands on a large plot of land between olive, avocado and orange trees and consists of a main house and an annexe, which are arranged around an inner courtyard with a swimming pool. There is also a small converted chapel on the property, which has now been converted into our professional kitchen. The climbing finca is very traditional and built in country house style with white limestone and flat roofs. The characteristics and atmosphere of a typical Spanish finca have been retained even after modern renovation, making the villa a beautiful combination of tradition and comfort.
The spacious indoor and outdoor areas offer plenty of space for communal activities, relaxed sunbathing, reading, yoga, workouts, darts or swimming. We have provided both retreats and communal areas and each space and room is individually designed and has its own unique charm.

An exemplary day
Good food, beautiful location & lots of time on the rock
Our delicious breakfast buffet is served at around 09:00. From sweet to savory, delicious spreads to small delicacies, everything you need for a good breakfast awaits you. From around 10:15 a.m. we’ll head to the crag – whether toprope or lead climbing, we’ll help you and everyone will climb at their own level. At the breakfast buffet, you will already have your packed lunch, so you can decide for yourself when to have lunch on the rock. When our fingers start to ache or our muscles start to show signs of fatigue, we return to the finca between 4 and 6 p.m., depending on the area. Here you have time to arrive, relax, jump into the pool or use one of our other leisure activities such as darts or kup. While we recover from the tension and excitement of the day, our kitchen team prepares dinner, which is served at around 19:30. In the evening there is always a short briefing about the next day or area and then we end the day together.
Room

Double room
For couples, friends or solo travelers
Our double rooms are available with a large double bed, two separate single beds or with a private or shared bathroom. You can choose this during the booking process.
If you are traveling alone and still want to stay in a double room, that’s no problem: in this case you will meet a nice roommate on site. We make sure that the rooms are occupied by the same sex unless you explicitly request otherwise. The maximum occupancy per bathroom is 4 people.

Single room
More privacy
If you prefer to have a room to yourselves, you can book a single room for an extra charge. This means you can decide for yourself at any time whether you want to mingle with the other guests or simply withdraw for a while. Our single rooms have either a large double bed or two single beds – in which case the second bed simply remains free.

Quadruple room
Our cheapest option
We also have a shared room in our finca. The four-bed room consists of two separate rooms that we have connected, as you walk through one room to get to the other.
The allocation of the four-bed room is by arrangement – as these are actually two rooms as described, it is possible that a mixed room is possible here. If this is a problem for you, please let us know when booking and we will plan accordingly.
Catering

Overview
Professional and innovative
At our climbing camp, you will be catered for by trained chefs with healthy, predominantly vegetarian cuisine. Our breakfast buffet will give you a healthy start in the morning and you can also make yourself a packed lunch for lunchtime.
After our climbing excursion, there will be enough time to relax and get ready for the evening. Three courses await you for dinner and we will be happy to cater for your intolerances or dietary requirements. Please contact us in advance.

Breakfast & Lunch
First-class, healthy and versatile with vegan options
We start the morning with a delicious and varied breakfast buffet. Here we offer you both local specialties and home-style breakfast classics.
The Goodtimes lunchbox will also be filled in the morning at breakfast, giving us the opportunity to take a lunch break at the crag at any time and recharge our batteries. We will therefore spend lunch in the area and only return to the finca late in the afternoon.
When we come down from the crag, you can help yourself free of charge at our coffee and tea bar and bridge the first hunger pangs until dinner with fruit and small snacks.

Dinner
Vegetarian first class
A delicious 3-course menu from our kitchen awaits you in the evening. Our kitchen team mainly cooks vegetarian dishes! The menus always depend on the quality of the local produce and change regularly.
One evening a week our kitchen team is free and you can try out the Spanish restaurants in the area. We are happy to make recommendations and book ahead for the whole group.
What do
our guests say?

Absolutely great what we were offered here while climbing in Spain. The accommodation, the atmosphere, the welcome, the organization, simply nice. The team not only knows about climbing, but also knows the area really well and has therefore conjured up a great climbing area every day. And not only was the sporting part great, the food was also excellent and exceeded all expectations. Big praise to the cook! :) I will definitely come back and spend my vacation at Goodtimes Camp.
